Garnet
Chemical Composition : Fe2+3Al2(SiO4)3 Iron Aluminum Silicate
The Garnets are a complex group of minerals all with similar crystalline structures but varying greatly in chemical composition and properties. All Garnets fall into six basic varieties: Almandine, Andradite, Grossular, Pyrope, Spessartine and Uvarovite or a combination of two or more. The name Garnet comes from the Latin word grantum, for Pomegranite and its similarity to the red seeds of this fruit.
